The Bible says in Ephesians 4:29 (ESV), "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."
Wouldn't it be nice if your children just naturally obeyed this passage? Unfortunately, that's not the case (at least not in this house!). But you can help your children learn to talk kindly to each other through positive reinforcement. Every time they say something kind to "build up" their siblings, award them with a new piece of the house!
Decide how many windows, doors, etc. make a completed house (mix and match elements from each page), and once the entire house is built, you can award your child a special prize or activity. Have your child color the pieces, then laminate them for reuse or print more for next time. I've done the first one for you as an example. Print out extra copies and hang them around the house for memory work and as reminders! I've also included copywork pages to help with both handwriting and Bible memory.
13 total pages of printables to help your child learn to build others up with their speech! Includes:
- 5 pages of house pieces to color
- 4 pages of copywork in both cursive and manuscript
- 1 verse page for printing to help with memorization
- 1 page for building the house.
- 1 page with examples of kind speech
- 1 page to fill in with ideas of kind speech
